UMMEED: A Beacon of Hope

Established in 2004, UMMEED began its journey as a small shelter in Lucknow, extending its reach across India. It was founded by a dedicated group of social workers, professionals, and everyday heroes who chose not to ignore the plight of the homeless and helpless. Recognized by the Guinness World Records and the Limca Book of Records, UMMEED NGO is committed to supporting homeless and migrant communities, with a significant focus on Lucknow, India.

Our Mission and Impact
Originally a modest initiative, UMMEED has evolved into one of India’s most trusted non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Our outreach encompasses:

  • Homeless individuals
  • People experiencing mental illness
  • Street children and beggars
  • The elderly and abandoned

Our mission is straightforward yet profound: to restore dignity, ensure safety, and create opportunities for every individual we serve. We go beyond simply providing shelters; we are dedicated to rebuilding hope in the lives of those who need it most.
